Former two-time UFC women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas is reportedly set to take on Amanda Ribas on Saturday, March 23. The bout, contested at flyweight, is featured on the card taking place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Rose Namajunas (11-6) is looking to return to winning ways. The 31-year-old was in action last September, when she dropped a unanimous decision against Manon Fiorot. In May 2022, the native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin lost her title by split decision against Carla Esparza.
Namajunas’ most recent win goes back to November 2021 when, she defeated Weili Zhang by split decision and secured her third straight victory. She is currently No. 8 in the UFC women’s pound-for-pound rankings.
Amanda Ribas (13-4) is coming off the win by TKO in the third round against Luana Pinheiro last Novemnber. Last June, the 30-year-old was stopped by Maycee Barber in Round 2. In March 2023, the native of Varginha, Brazil earned a unanimous decision against Viviane Araujo. She is No. 9 in the UFC women’s strawweight and women’s flyweight rankings.
The bout, originally reported by Combate citing sources, is yet to be formally announced by the promotion.
Among other previously announced bouts for the event, Montserrat Rendon takes on Darya Zheleznyakova at women’s bantamweight and Stephanie Luciano faces Shauna Bannon at women’s strawweight. Plus, Luis Pajuelo and Fernando Padilla go head to head at featherweight.
