Going through the ropes in front of her hometown crowd, 39-year-old Jonas (14-2-1, 9 KOs) makes the first defense of her belt. 33-year-old Mayer (19-1, 5 KOs) of Woodland Hills, California looks to become champion in her new weight class. The world championship bout is scheduled for 10 rounds.
Kicking off the fight week, the fighters held an open workout, showed off their skills and posed for photos in the city.
In an-all British rematch, serving as the co-main event, Bolton’s super middleweight Jack Cullen (22-4-1, 10 KOs) defends his British and Commonwealth titles against Zak Chelli (14-2-1, 7 KOs) of London. The pair fought to a split draw in August 2020.
Also on the card, British 2020 Olympic Bronze medallist Karriss Artingstall (5-0, 1 KOs) and Lila dos Santos Furtado (9-1, 1 KOs) of Brazil clash in a six-round bout at featherweight. Kicking off the action, Ireland’s Aaron McKenna (17-0, 8 KOs) defends his WBC International middleweight title against Linus Udofia (19-2, 9 KOs) of Nigeria.
